Assistance includes: shelter, food, clothing, hygiene kits, and other basic necessities.

The Canadian Red Cross encourages all Canadians to be prepared with a disaster kit that will prepare you for 72 hours in the event of a disaster.

A disaster kit includes items such as: water, non-perishable food, can opener, extra copies of keys, batteries, important documents (passports, licenses, wills), medications, and personal hygiene items.
